Mr Rudy DEMOTTE, Minister-President of the Walloon Region and the French Community, accompanied by Mrs Marie-Dominique SIMONET, Minister of Research and Higher Education, went to the Region of Uppsala in Sweden from 20 to 22 April 2008 heading a delegation of academics and industrialists.
On this occasion, the University of Uppsala and ULB signed a collaboration agreement in the fields of juvenile diabetes and transplantation medicine. The agreement, which involves the Medical Institute of Immunology (IMI) and the Laboratory of Experimental Medicine of the Faculty of Medicine, aims to promote exchanges of researchers, technology transfers and conjoined projects under european initiatives, coordinated by IMI as the TRIE project (Transplantation Integration across Europe, http://www.transplantation-research.eu/).
