A new First spin-off program sponsored by the Walloon Region started at the IMI on October 1st, 2006. This programme, dedicated to the development of new screening methods for vaccine adjuvants inducing regulatory T cells, is led by Marcel Tuynder, PhD. After 14 years spent in ULB laboratories, Marcel Tuynder joined Cerenis Molecular Engines Laboratories in Paris in 2000, where he obtained a PhD from Paris VII University under the mentorship of Adam Telerman. Marcel Tuynder is the author of 22 publications including 3 articles as first author in Proc Natl Acad Sci USA and is the holder of several patents. The research he will conduct at the IMI aims at the development of new vaccines against allergic and autoimmune disorders.
