June 2007 - Jolyn Johnson, PhD Student, identifies new role for protein kinase C
Jolyn Johnson, PhD Student, working under the supervision of Fabienne Willems, PhD, recently demonstrates that protein kinase C-alpha controls activation of the transcription factor IRF3 and induction of interferon-beta synthesis in stimulated dendritic cells. This study identifies protein kinase C-alpha as a potential target for the development of novel immunotherapies. It was published in the May 2007 issue of the Journal of Biological Chemistry, a journal from the American Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology.
