Professor Michel Goldman was awarded the degree of Docteur Honoris Causa by the Université Lille II, Lille, France, on October 25th, 2007, for his major scientific achievements in the field of immunology and transplantation, and in recognition of more than 10 years of intensive collaboration between the Institute for Medical Immunology and INSERM Unit 547, led by the Professor Monique Capron, both in research and training. This long-standing relationship has recently led to the creation of the European Associated Laboratory FNRS-INSERM, a Joint Intiative entitled "Molecular Immunopathology of Infections and Inflammation".
