In July 2007, His Excellency Major General Michael Jeffery, Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia, was in official visit in Belgium for the Commemorations for the 90th Anniversary of the World War I Battle of Passchendaele. On this occasion, Their Excellencies the Governor-General and Mrs Jeffery, as guests of the Vice-Dean, Research Faculty of the Université Libre de Bruxelles, Professor Véronique Halloin, as well as the delegation from the Australian Embassy and Mission to the European Union, have visited the facilities of the Institute for Medical Immunology.
