FedImmune - Interuniversity Attraction Poles from Belgian Federal Science Policy (2007-2011). This project is focused on T-cell development and function. With a panel of human and murine models it aims to explore the signals and factors driving T-cell differentiation from their precursor stages to their final effector and/or regulatory states. This network involves both basic scientists and physicians engaged in clinical research with a view to promoting translational medical research based on fundamental scientific advances. Common platforms of cell therapy and immune monitoring are key to this objective. Beside research, training activities are central to this project mostly through the exchange of scientists among the participating labs. This research network is composed of 6 Belgian research centres assembling a critical mass of knowledge and expertise in the field of immunology and immunotherapy.
