| Professor Oberdan LEO, the Director | |

 Oberdan LEO is Full Professor at the Université Libre de Bruxelles where he teaches Immunology and Cellular Biology at the Faculté des Sciences and conducted a research group at the Laboratory of Animal Physiology. He is also Assistant Professor at the Université de Mons. Since 1999, Oberdan LEO serves as President of the Belgian Immunological Society. His major research interests deal with the relationship between metabolism and the inflammatory response and the analysis of T helper subsets differentiation pathways. His contributions in these areas resulted in more than 115 publications in top-ranked journals including Nature Medicine, the Journal of Experimental Medicine, Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (USA) and the Journal of Immunology. According to the Thomson Institute for Scientific Information, his article on the generation of a monoclonal anti-mouse CD3 monoclonal antibody has been cited more than 2000 times. Oberdan LEO serves since several years as consultant for GSK Biologicals, the company that initiated in 2004 the public-private partnership with the ULB and the Walloon Region which supports the Institute for Medical Immunology. cdemaret@ulb.ac.be | |

| Jean-Michel OOST, the Administrative Director | |
 Jean-Michel Oost is our deputy director in charge of the overall day-to-day administration of the Institute. Jean-Michel Oost has obtained a "Licence" in administration and management at the "Université Catholique de Louvain-La-Neuve". Jean-Michel Oost has acquired a deep experience in terms of financial, administrative and projects management through his functions of European Project Manager at "De Duve Institute" and of Financial Auditor for Deloitte.
